Karen is passionate about addressing health inequalities and brings over 30 years experience as a GP, 2 years as a trauma informed, therapeutic coach and 8 years designing and leading person centred, health inclusion projects.
The Community Wellness model is the culmination of her experience within the limitations of working within a medical model and 8 years as a health inclusion GP listening and responding to the needs of those with most need.
The Community Wellness model is a trauma informed , psychosocial model that focuses on and is developed and delivered with those with most need.
The approach improves health , wellbeing and healing and has the potential to shape and sustain Primary care by supporting the most vulnerable patients and those who frequently attend.
Through being a Bevan Fellow, Karen is hoping to achieve support, networks and opportunities to showcase the model and demonstrate its potential impact.
