Bevan Fellow
Mick is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at Velindre Cancer Centre and Associate Medical Director (workforce) for Velindre University NHS Trust.
Through his role in developing a new cancer innovation/learning/research facility (and the the themes that underpin that in terms of functions, connections etc.) Mick is working on improving cross professional/cross organisational collaborative working in cancer care. As part of this, he’s now working towards a PhD (Swansea University School of Management) researching how we can enhance clinical innovation/agility through a focus on clinical staff wellbeing.
Through his Bevan Fellowship, Mick is hoping to support the development of greater collaborative working between different teams (all of whom focus on delivering/improving cancer care) – this is important in its own right; it will also help to develop the new cancer centre and deliver greater value and benefit from that. It should also help support the cancer workforce.
