Dr. Rheinallt Morgan, GP Registrar, Carmarthen, Chair, RCGP Wales Registrar Committee, Health Education and Improvement Wales, Royal College of General Practitioners
After beginning his career in medical device research and development at a global engineering firm, Dr. Rheinallt Morgan studied medicine in Malta. He completed his Foundation training in the East Midlands before moving to Northern Ireland to complete his Core Surgical Training.
On returning to South West Wales, Rheinallt has driven improvements in Trauma & Orthopaedics for Hywel Dda University Health Board. Projects during this time have included creating an electronic Trauma Heatmap for the National Clinical Director for Trauma and leading post-pandemic theatre efficiency initiatives in elective orthopaedic surgery with NHS Executive oversight.
Rheinallt is a passionate educator, having completed his Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from Cardiff University. He has taught locally, regionally and nationally, including as Faculty for the Trauma Care charity.
In 2024, he joined the Carmarthen GP training scheme and here, he developed an electronic CAMHS referral system while actively contributing to RCGP South West Wales Faculty.
Rheinallt is committed to continuous development in leadership and innovation. He is a member of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, a Yeoman of the Worshipful Society of Apothecaries, and part of DHCW’s Stakeholder Clinical Reference Group.
Most recently, he has also been elected Chair of the RCGP Wales Registrar Committee.

Rheinallt is striving towards addressing health inequalities and advocacy for primary care through digital inclusion and promotion of the NHS Wales app to facilitate improved patient access for appointment bookings and dissemination of laboratory test results to patients where reasonably practicable.
